Darjeeling is the “Queen of Hills” located in the northern part of west Bengal. The town was developed by the British in the period of 19th century. It is famous for its tea industry, the magnificent views of Kanchenjunga, third-highest mountain in the world, and the DHR or Darjeeling Himalayan Railway Toy Train, a UNESCO approved World Heritage Site. It is also noted for the tourist destination in India. Darjeeling has many British-style public schools which are the mostly attract the tourist. Darjeeling is one of the parts of the eastern Himalayan Zoo-geographic zone. The Padmaja Himalaya Zoological Park is conserving and breeding endangered Himalaya species. It is the highest altitude zoo in India. The Lloyd’s Botanical garden keeps the rare and lot of common species of plants. Ducks, Teals, Plovers and Gulls passed the Darjeeling while migrating. Darjeeling Zoo is conserving the Red pandas. Tiger hill, Rock garden & Gangamaya peak, Japanese temple, Batasia loop are the major attraction of tourist destination.
